What am I buying?
A “carbon removal unit” (CRU) represents one metric ton (i.e., tonne) of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere once the CRU has been delivered. All CRUs sold by Vaulted represent metric tons of carbon dioxide removed with all emissions associated with carbon removal activities quantified and subtracted from the CRU that is ultimately delivered to customers. Each CRU generated and delivered by Vaulted adheres to Vaulted’s CDR protocol (the Biomass Geological Storage Protocol) issued through Vaulted’s registry Isometric and has been independently verified and validated by a third-party validation and verification body (VVB). As the buyer of a CRU, you are the sole owner of the CRU and its carbon removal claims.
When will my CRU(s) be delivered?
CRU pre-purchases will be delivered between 2028-2030. You will be notified of your CRU delivery through the email address you used to make your initial purchase.
